Career history

Below is a brief overview of my career history, focusing on the companies where I was a full-time employee.

SGN

London, UK
July 2024-April 2025

Strategic direction, CMS management and maintenance, and content design for one of Britain’s leading energy infrastructure organizations.

During an eight-month consultancy position, I led planning, product management, and execution of digital projects for the corporate site sgn.co.uk, working with internal stakeholders and external vendors, including putting together feature request documents, planning deployment, and QA. I also worked with editors and marketing teams to support them in creating content for digital channels, focusing on user needs, inclusivity, plain writing, and accessibility.

One of the challenges the organization faced was a lack of coherence in the language used on the marketing funnel. Working with the Product and Marketing teams, I evaluated and re-wrote the microcopy used in the prompts, and re-structured the user experience flow, leading to a reduction in the number of abandoned purchases.

I also designed and built a WordPress microsite, sgnengage.co.uk, which showcased the company’s five year plan for the next gas distribution price cycle.

Additionally, I wrote technical documentation for the site, focusing on CMS / CRM management, and user guides for the integration of various APIs.

Social Finance

London, UK
Jan 2020 – Apr 2024

Content delivery, strategic communications, and website management for non-profit consultancy tackling social issues and improving public services in the UK & internationally.

I owned socialfinance.org.uk on a strategic, technical, and content level, bringing professionalism to our digital output, posting double-digit increases in audience numbers and engagement, and driving new lead generation.

I led the end-to-end redesign of the corporate site, working with external vendors and senior management to move site off Drupal and onto Craft CMS. I was responsible for the information architecture, user journeys, new UX and look and feel, developing new content, and building and editing page templates as required.

I also oversaw company-wide brand refresh, working with external agency on style guide, visuals, and editorial tone, then led rollout across the organization.

In my final year at the organization I also launched two microsites: Social Finance International, which showcased our work beyond the United Kingdom, and the Shared Ownership Council, which was part of a strategic review of Britain’s shared ownership housing market (this site has now expired, but an archived version is available)
